Women’s basketball turns conference form around, beating Rochester and Emory

After starting the season with a record of 1-2 in University Athletic Association (UAA) play, which saw the Bears fall from No. 13 to unranked in Division III standings, the WashU women’s basketball team fought for two straight conference victories this past weekend. On Jan. 24, the Bears defeated the University of Rochester 86-76, and two days later, they traveled down to Atlanta, beating Emory University 67-56. WashU is now 3-2 in UAA play as they reach the halfway point of their two-month stretch of consecutive conference games.

No. 11 men’s basketball returns home from a challenging UAA roadtrip victorious, defeating Rochester and No. 2 Emory

The No. 11 WashU men’s basketball team traveled along the East Coast this past weekend, beating the University of Rochester 99-82 on Jan. 24 and No. 2 Emory University 81-63 on Jan 26. The win over the Emory Eagles marks the first victory for the Bears against a Top 10 team this season.

No. 11 volleyball falls short in the UAA finals, look forward to NCAA tournament matchup

The No. 11 WashU volleyball team dominated the opening day of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Friday, Nov. 15, defeating New York University and No. 16 Case Western Reserve University in single-elimination matchups. These victories propelled the Bears into Saturday’s championship game against No. 6 Emory University, where they fell 3-0.

Men’s basketball earns crucial win to snap six-game road losing streak

After making the flight from Atlanta to upstate New York, the Bears showed up ready to play on Sunday, Feb. 11. From the opening tipoff to the final whistle, the Bears put on a clinic, riding a 15-0 start, a rebounding performance for the history books, and lockdown defense to a 75-61 victory.

Women’s basketball beats Emory and Rochester, extending UAA win streak to seven

The Bears had rattled off five straight wins before their trip to Atlanta and New York, catapulting them up the UAA standings and reviving their chances of an at-large NCAA tournament berth. This past weekend, the team had a chance to show off their improvement. They took full advantage of it, dominating No. 19 Emory and Rochester on Feb. 9 and 11, avenging their close losses from earlier this season.

Women’s Basketball drops tough losses to Emory & Rochester

Entering the weekend hot off of a strong performance in their league opener at the University of Chicago and looking to extend their five-game winning streak, the No. 25 Bears faced off against No. 6 Emory and Rochester on Jan. 12 and 14. Unfortunately, the ball did not bounce the right way for the Bears.
