New talent impresses in PAD’s ‘Eclipsed’

The five characters of Danai Gurira’s “Eclipsed”—four wives married to the same high-ranking officer and peace advocate—find themselves trapped not only by rebel fighting but also by their own beliefs. These women live in a rebel army camp during the last leg of the Liberian Civil War.

A chat with director of ‘Eclipsed’ Andrea Urice

“Eclipsed,” a play about the effects of the Liberian civil war on five women, is playing this weekend at the Hotchner Studio Theatre. Student Life spoke with Andrea Urice, senior lecturer in drama, about the play and her process as a director. Student Life: Why are you a director? What continues to interest you in directing?
