Men’s tennis wins first of spring

The fourth-ranked Washington Unviersity men’s tennis team picked up its first win of the spring season with a 5-4 victory over Division II No. 28 Southwest Baptist University on Saturday afternoon at King’s Point Racquet Club in Belleville, Ill. The breakdown of results was very similar to the team’s season-opening loss to Drury University the previous weekend.

Veteran men’s tennis team gears up for season

Coming off an 18-8 season and a trip to the NCAA Division III Final Four for the fifth straight season, the Washington University men’s tennis team returns to action on Saturday against Division II Drury University. The Bears begin the season ranked No. 4 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III top-30 poll.

Great spring, landmark win lead Bears into promising 2012-13 season

Before May 21, 2012, the top-ranked Amherst College men’s tennis team—the defending national champion—had gone its entire 2011-12 campaign without getting swept in doubles by another Division III program. The Washington University men’s tennis team changed that and picked up its biggest win since its national championship victory in 2008.

Men’s tennis beats McKendree

The Washington University men’s tennis team won its third straight home match on Friday as it beat Division II McKendree University 7-2. Wash. U. and McKendree had previously faced off on Feb. 3, and the Bears won in an easy 9-0 victory. While the Friday match wasn’t a sweep, the end result was fairly similar for the Bears.

Adam Putterman wins USTA/ITA Central Regional Singles Championship

Junior Adam Putterman became the third Washington University men’s tennis player since 2001 to win the USTA/ITA Central Regional Singles Championship on Monday as he defeated Kenyon College’s C.J. Williams 6-4, 6-3 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis.
