Lady Bears advance to Bloomington

On its home floor, the Washington University women’s basketball team avenged last year’s loss to George Fox University in the NCAA title game with a 59-52 win over the No. 5 Bruins. With the win, the No. 6 Bears win their sectional final and advance to the semi-final game of the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball tournament.

Washington University (27-2) will face No. 1 Amherst College (31-0) next Friday in one of the semi-final games while the University of Rochester (23-6) will face No. 4 Hope College (31-1) in the other game. The semi-final and championship games will be hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill.
