Robbery reported at intersection of Kingsbury and Trinity

A Washington University student was robbed near the intersection of Kingsbury Boulevard and Trinity Avenue at approximately 2:30 p.m. today.

Chief Mark Glenn of the Washington University Police Department sent a security memo to the student body about the incident at 5:35 p.m.

According to the memo, two subjects approached the student near the 6100 block of Trinity Avenue at approximately 2:30 p.m. The student fell to the ground after being struck in the face by one of the subjects. They then demanded that the student give them their cell phone and tell them its passcode. The student gave the subject his phone and told him the passcode. Both subjects then ran away, reportedly heading south on Trinity Avenue.

After the subjects fled the scene, security footage confirmed that they had left via the MetroLink station at the intersection of Forest Park Parkway and Big Bend Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

The University City Police Department is currently investigating the incident.

Police Chief Mark Glenn did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
