Student Life wins 18 Missouri college newspaper awards
Student Life, Washington University’s independent student newspaper, won 18 awards in the 2017 Missouri College Media Association newspaper contest.
The contest honors excellence in collegiate journalism published in 2016 in Missouri. The awards were announced at the annual Missouri College Media Association (MCMA) convention, held at Missouri Western State University in Saint Joseph, Mo. this past weekend.
Student Life won second place in the Division 1 Sweepstakes contest, which awards papers points for wins in the contest’s 25 categories. Four points were awarded for each first-place finish, three points for second place, two points for third place and one for each honorable mention. The Maneater, the University of Missouri-Columbia’s newspaper, won first place in the Sweepstakes competition. The Arrow, Southeast Missouri State University’s newspaper, took home the award for best overall newspaper in the Division 1 category.
