The season did not end as envisioned for Washington University’s UAA Champion women’s soccer team. The squad fell to rival University of Chicago 2-1 in the regular season finale in the Windy City.

Sophomore Caryn Rosoff put the Bears on the board early, something they have been struggling to do all season. In the 27th minute, she scored on a breakaway from 18 yards out with an assist credited to junior Caitlin Malone.

Much like what Wash. U. has done all season, the Maroons came roaring back in the second half. Sophomore forward Brooke Bontz scored two goals in the final 15 minutes of regulation.

As UAA champions, the Red and Green receive an automatic bid to the post season tournament. The bracket will be announced Monday morning.
