Softball

Last Games: Wash U. posted two victories over Benedictine University and the University of Chicago by the scores of 12-4 and 2-1.

Team Notes: Sophomore pitcher Laurel Sagartz improved to 19-1 as she pitched seven strong innings to pick up the win. Left fielder Jamie Kressel drove in five runs against Benedictine. First baseman Liz Swary went 3-for-3 in that game. Against Chicago, Kressel drove in both of the Bears’ runs to increase the winning streak to 22 games.

Did You Know: The Bears have now won 22 straight games.

Next Game: The Bears are scheduled to travel to host Webster University on Wednesday, April 27 at 4:30 p.m.

Women’s Tennis

Last Meet: Wash U. 9, Principia College 0

Team Notes: After finishing second overall in the University Athletic Association tournament, the Bears swept Principia College on Tuesday. The Bears refused to drop a single set against their opponent and improved their season record to 9-8.

Next Meet: The Bears will get ready to participate in the NCAA Championships from May 7-8.

Men’s Tennis

Last Meet: Wash U. 1, Kalamazoo 5 and Wash U. 4, Coe College 1

Team Notes: The Bears fell to 10th-ranked Kalamazoo by the score of 1-5. Freshman Charlie Howard notched the only victory against Kalamazoo as he won 6-0, 6-3.

Next Meet: The Bears finished the regular season with the record of 13-5.

Baseball

Last Game: Wash U. 16, Eureka College 0

Team Notes: Senior Dan Rieck hit his team-leading 10th home run of the season. The Bears amassed 16 runs on 21 hits. Sophomore pitcher Brent Buffa improved his season record to 9-1 by throwing a complete game four-hit shutout. He also struck out 11 batters.

Did You Know: The Bears are just two wins away from tying their single season win record (30).

Next Game: The Bears are scheduled to play against Webster College on Tuesday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m.

Track and Field

Last Meet: Both the women’s squad and the men’s squad are in first place after Day One of the UAA Outdoor Championships.

Next Meet: Wash U. is scheduled to participate in the Drake Relays from April 28-30.
