Men’s Basketball

Last Game: Wash U. 93, Carnegie Mellon 83.

Recent Key Performers: Senior Rob Keller scored a career-high 26 points. Freshman Troy Ruths, senior Anthony Hollins, and junior Scott Stone each contributed 12 points. Bears shot an impressive 48 percent from beyond the arc.

Men’s Tennis

Last Meet: Wash U. 7, University of Missouri-St. Louis 0.

Team Notes: The Bears recorded their eighth consecutive victory with this win over Division II UMSL on Wednesday. The Bears collectively dropped just one set.

Next Meet: The Bears will square off against New York University on Friday, April 15th at 11:30 a.m.

Women’s tennis

Last meet: Wash U. placed 4th at the Midwest Invitational.

Team Notes: After winning the first match against Carthage College by the score of 5-4, the Bears suffered defeats to Gustavus Adolphus and Denison to place 4th.

Next Meet: The Bears will participate in the University Athletic Association Championships from April 15th to April 17th in Waltham, Mass.

Track and Field

Last Meet: The women’s squad finished 3rd and the men’s squad finished 2nd at the WU Select.

Team Notes: On the women’s side, senior Hallie Hutchens won both the 100-meter and the 400-meter hurdle events. Sophomore Delaina Martin finished 4th in the shot put and freshman Allyson Heard finished 6th in the hammer throw. On the men’s side, senior Lance Moen finished 1st in the 400-meter dash. Junior Jimmy Centella finished third in the 800-meter race.

Next Meet: Wash U. is set to participate in the North Central Quad in Naperville, Ill. this Saturday, April 16th.

Baseball

Last Game: Wash U. 14, Westminster 2

Team Notes: Sophomore Brent Buffa improved to 8-0 for the season. Buffa pitched a complete game, allowing eight hits while striking out four. Junior Ryan Corning cranked a solo home run in the third inning. In the eighth inning, the Bears scored six runs to put the game away for good.

Did You Know: Pitcher Jason Ortwerth was named an Honorable Mention National Pitcher of the Week.

Next Game: The Bears will play DePauw University at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 16th in Greencastle, Ind.
