Baseball

Last Games: Wash U swept Knox College by the scores of 12-4 and 15-2.

Team Notes: Junior Ryan Corning went 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Sophomore pitcher Brent Buffa improved to 7-0 on the season. Buffa pitched 5.1 innings, giving up just 5 hits and 2 earned runs. The Red and Green amassed 27 runs on 27 hits on the day.

Did You Know: The Bears have now won 6 consecutive games.

Next Game: The Bears are scheduled to play Maryville University on Tuesday in St. Louis at 5 p.m.

Men’s Tennis

Team Notes: The Bears improved to 5-2 with the win over 11th ranked Carthage College on Friday. Ari Rosenthal, Charlie Howard and Eric Borden came up with huge victories in singles to help the Bears upset Carthage College. The Bears refused to give up a single set against Illinois Wesleyan.

Next Meet: The Bears will host Lindenwood University on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Women’s Tennis

Last Meet: Wash U 4, Rhodes College 5

Team Notes: The Bears dropped to 4-5 overall with the close loss to Rhodes College on Saturday.

Next Meet: The Bears will host Lindenwood University on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Softball

Last games: Wash U 8, MacMurray 0 and Wash U 8, MacMurray 0

Team Notes: The Bears swept MacMurray by taking both games by the score of 8-0. Freshman shortstop Laura D’Andrea went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI in the first game. In the second game, freshman center fielder Amy Vukovich went 2 for 3 with a run scored.

Did You Know: The Bears boast 11 position players that are currently hitting over .300 for the season.

Next Game: The Bears are scheduled to host Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Friday at 4 p.m.

Track and Field

Last Meet: The women’s squad finished first and the men’s squad finished eighth at the WU Invitational.

Team Notes: On the women’s side, Freshman Morgan Leonard-Fleckman finished second overall in the women’s pole vault. Sophomore Delaina Martin finished fourth in the women’s hammer throw. Tiffany Boubour finished first overall in the women’s javelin throw. On the men’s side, junior David Skiba finished third in the 110-meter hurdles. Junior Greg Reindl finished fourth in the men’s 1500-meter race.

Next Meet: Wash U is set to host the WU Select on April 9.
