NFL Picks 2003-04

NFL Picks

Matthew Goldberg
Sports Editor

Outlook:
It’s been gray and raining the past few days, which hopefully won’t affect the Cardinals lead in the Central Division. I want to go to the playoffs, but the Padres won’t be in it. Maybe my Chargers will.

Game of the Week:
San Diego vs. Kansas City

Would I ever pick against my San Diego Chargers? Does St. Louis ever have good weather for more than one day? I think the answer to both of these questions would be no.

Outlook:
If I were an NFL fan, I’d probably be really excited about the start of the season this week. Then again, if I were an NFL fan, I’d probably be too hung-over to know about it.

Game of the Week:
Houston vs. Miami

Miami could beat Houston this week. Then again, monkeys could fly out of my butt. Either way, I probably shouldn’t have eaten those monkeys last night.

Lesley McCullough
Cornerstone Tech Coordinator

Outlook:
Football season is underway, where there will be no cork controversies or Padres losing streaks. Instead we will have the pleasure of listening to Rush Limbaugh run his mouth about a variety of subjects on ESPN.

Game of the Week
New England vs. Buffalo

Under the direction of their veteran QB Drew Bledsoe, the Bills will defeat the Brady-led Patriots in a highly contested match up at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Michael Chasnow
Class of 2005

Outlook:
A new season begins, and with it comes hope. Hope that the Redskins will not suck. Hope that the millions spent will actually, maybe, possibly, lead the ‘Skins ALL THE WAY. All the way to the playoffs, that is.

Game of the Week
Washington vs. NY Jets

Redskins buy Coles, Morton, Thomas, and Hall. The Jets can’t even field a team. Even if they could, they don’t have their starting quarterback. Testerdade can’t even walk his dog. They have no shot.

Elizabeth Grieser
Class of 2004

Outlook:
Everyone from Washington University is back at school, so I’m sure the Rams can just feel all the added support. Yeah right. Plus all the rain is a sure sign that the Rams are on the upswing.

Game of the Week
Arizona vs. Detroit

Obviously Lions vs. Cardinals is not a match at all. A lion could probably swallow a cardinal without even noticing. So, Detroit wins next Sunday, score 17 to 14.

Matt Weinstein
Class of 2006

Outlook:
There has been lots of parity in sports lately. A perennial loser wins the Superbowl, two crappy Anaheim teams make the finals, and 10 teams are in playoff contention in baseball. I look for the football season to produce similar results.

Game of the week
Minnesota vs. Green Bay

The Vikings and the Packers have been waging battle in the NFC North for years, and it continues to be a defining moment in the rivalry between the Land of Ten thousand Lakes and the Land of Cheese.

Reshi Kanuru
Class of 2005

Outlook:
My interest in football has declined ever since the Bears got rid of their cheerleaders, but they’re back and so am I. Hey, cheerleaders are what make the game so great, especially in the winter.

Game of the Week
San Francisco vs. Chicago

It looks like a bleak year, but the 49ers will be a piece of cake. I plan to shotgun a beer every time the Bears score a touchdown, so Kordell Stewart better produce.
