
The fourth-ranked Washington University volleyball team captured the Washington University National Invitational championship on Saturday after noon with wins against 16th-ranked Ohio Northern University(3-0) and 14th-ranked University of Puget Sound (3-0). With the win, head coach Rich Luenemann is just one win shy of 700.
In the final match of the tournament, Washington U. defeated Puget Sound 30-18, 30-22 and 30-21. Freshman Heidi Pfeiffer led the Bears with eight kills and 11 digs. Senior co-captain Rebecca Rotello added 29 assists and seven kills in the win.
Rotello and sophomore Colleen Winter was named to the all-tournament team.
