Amidst blaring music and the loud chatter of Happy Hour at the Rat, Team 31 announced on Thursday afternoon that rock band Better Than Ezra will be headlining this spring’s W.I.L.D. on April 25. Along with Better Than Ezra, which is best known for its hit “Extra Ordinary,” Kim Kline and the Tony Lang Band will also perform.

“Because there was a hip-hop group at the last W.I.L.D. and there was supposed to be a hip-hop group at the W.I.L.D. before that, we really wanted to get a rock group for this W.I.L.D.,” explained Team 31 co-chair Matt Scheck.

“We think that we’re really lucky that we got such a good band,” commented Evan Brody, a Team 31 co-chair.

Many students were excited about the band’s announcement.

“It’s definitely a band I’ve heard of, and I’m excited,” said senior Jessica Miller. “They’re a band I really loved in high school and it’s nice to move away from the hip-hop for one W.I.L.D.”

Others were not as pleased with the decision to book BTE.

Sophomore Adi Gondi said, “I think it’s going to be horrible. We’re probably just going to throw a party instead.”
