Sigal’s Subway stance criticized
Dear Editor:
I’d like to thank Alex Sigal for his efforts in increasing the efficiency of our campus Subway restaurant. For too long I have stood on line with thirty people, waiting for sometimes as long as nine minutes, while four subway employees working in cramped conditions make each and every student’s specialized, unique order. I always wondered why it took so long to receive my meal, but thanks to Mr. Sigal, I now realize that I, along with the many other students who eat at Subway at the same times due to class scheduling, are victims of these underpaid, overworked employees and their rampant negligence. How dare they take those extra 12 seconds to toast that girl’s meatball sub! Here I was thinking that the basic notion of demand caused such long lines, but Mr. Sigal has unequivocally proved to me (without citing any data or test results I note) that these lazy, fat-cat Subway employees are responsible. I hereby call all Wash. U. students to rise up and demand change, to go directly to these employees and criticize their work. They’ll surely understand, as they seemed to do when two UF students traveled 900 miles to join a Wash. U. transfer student in spending a week telling them how to do their jobs. Thank you, Mr. Sigal, for inciting such a change. WASH-U-STUDENTS-WITH-TOO-MUCH-TIME-ON-THEIR-HANDS, UNITE!!!
P.S.: In the time it took for Alex Sigal to conduct his study, he could have probably eaten at subway 80 times.
