Powering through 20-plus mile-per-hour winds and a match cancellation due to rain, the Washington University women’s tennis team picked up wins over Case Western Reserve University and the No. 12 University of Chicago in a series of matches over the weekend.
After splitting the first two matches of its season, the No. 13 Washington University women’s tennis team took care of business on Saturday and completely dominated Rhodes College with a 9-0 win in its first home match of the season.
The 13th-ranked Washington University women’s tennis team opened its season with a split of two road matches, losing 5-4 to 10th-ranked DePauw University on Saturday before coming back the next morning and beating Case Western Reserve University, 7-2.
The home-court advantage of the Dwight Davis and Tao Tennis Centers offered no help to the Washington University women’s tennis team at the 2010 United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Women’s Tennis Central Regional on Oct. 1-4.
