University athletics should inspire our attention

Given the volleyball team’s recent victory over the No. 1 ranked team in the country, the men’s soccer team’s recently-ended undefeated streak, and attempts by students and the administration at fostering a tailgate atmosphere before football games, we feel it pertinent to comment on the state of athletics on this campus.

Tailgating now a reality at Bears’ games

What began as a Facebook interest group has now evolved into a full-fledged attempt to increase school spirit in the form of tailgating. This past Saturday marked the first pregame tailgate of the Bears’ football season. Around 200 students congregated outside of the DUC before the football game against Wittenberg University.
