We are not in high school anymore and should not be afraid to get made fun of. Yesterday, while I was alone in my apartment, I almost threw my arm out fist-pumping to a remixed version of MGMT’s over-played song, “Kids.”

Oscar nominations were announced Tuesday morning with only a few surprises. Unfortunately, none of the potential nominees that I made cases for actually made the cut, but one of my “Also considers” made it in: Maggie Gyllenhaal for Best Supporting Actress in “Crazy Heart.”

The summer break is over, and you can hear that steady beat of freshmen marching to their first college classes. The new school year brings change. Wohl Center as we know it is gone, and Bear Grylls owns a restaurant on the South 40.
