Noted philanthropist Desmond Lee, 92, dies
Desmond Lee, a magnanimous businessman, civic leader and philanthropist who donated more than $70 million over the decades, died at the age of 92 on Jan. 12 of a stroke. In 1996, he founded the Des Lee Collaborative Vision, which endows professorships at three major universities in St. Louis: University of Missouri-St. Louis, Washington University and Webster University.
Edward Nussbaum, math professor who escaped Holocaust, passes away
Former Washington University Professor of Mathematics A. Edward Nussbaum died of congestive heart failure on Oct. 31. He was 84 years old. Nussbaum taught at the University for 37 years and retired in 1995.
Lynn Imergoot, longtime athletics staffer, dies in car accident
A mainstay in the Washington University athletic department was lost last Friday night when Lynn Imergoot lost control of her car outside of New York City and struck a tree. She was 60 years old.
