When a college student says they have Saturday night plans, going to a lecture isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. When I filed into the Clopton Auditorium on Washington University’s Medical Campus just before 7 p.m. on Saturday, however, that’s exactly what I was doing.
The Frankenstein Bicentennial committee is hosting a contest—The Monster Challenge—to encourage continued student engagement with “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley.
Washington University is set to begin its three-semester long commemoration of the 200-year anniversary of “Frankenstein” this fall.
“Shrek the Musical” may be an emblem of our generation. Posterity will see “Les Miserables” or “The Lion King,” but “Shrek” will perish once DVD sales halt.
