They have lived together all four years and are students in the John M. Olin School of Business.

It is not unusual for freshmen to see playing time on the Washington University men’s and women’s basketball teams, but regardless, the play of Melissa Gilkey and Brayden Teuscher has been exemplary. Through five games, Teuscher has averaged 13.2 points per game (second on the men’s side), while shooting .400 (12 of 30) from behind the 3-point line and averaging 2.

Men’s basketball wins big to begin season

The Washington University men’s basketball team opened its 2011-12 season with a 91-64 win against MacMurray College on Tuesday. “You never know what to expect when you open the season,” head coach Mark Edwards said. “We’ve been working hard, but we haven’t had any type of opportunity to compete against someone from outside.

Bears fall to Chicago in finale for Class of 2011

The Washington University men’s basketball team ended its season with a 74-67 loss to the University of Chicago. Before Saturday’s contest at the Field House, the team honored its four seniors: Spencer Gay, Isaiah Honick, Caleb Knepper and Brett Sapp. Knepper also won the Pearce Award, which is given to a departing player for overall dedication to the team.
