Parades, food, hayrides, a 5k and art: Do it all in St. Louis this weekend

This weekend is one for the books. With a variety of events happening, you might as well close your eyes, point at this list, and you’ll find a good one! Or just go to each one for half an hour, whatever works.

Taste of St. Louis

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 14 – Sunday, Sept. 16
WHERE: Chesterfield Amphitheater
HOW MUCH: Free admission. You pay for what you eat.
WHAT: Award-winning, 14th annual, food-centered event showcasing the best food in the region.

Dogtown Family Festival and Bag Tournament

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
WHERE: Lehman Place (Wise and Tamm), St. Louis
HOW MUCH: Participation free, donation requested.
WHAT: There will be a Halfway to St. Patty’s Children and Pet Parade, along with a bags tournament. The tournament requires an entry fee but provides a considerable monetary prize for first through fourth place. 

Great Forest Park Balloon Race

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 14 – Saturday, Sept. 15
WHERE: Art Hill located within Forest Park
WHAT: Friday night is the balloon glow accompanied by fireworks. The balloons at night have been described as looking like giant fireflies. Saturday will include skydiving, a family picnic and the actual hot air balloon race.

Celebrate St. Peters – Party at the Lake

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 15
WHERE: 370 Lakeside Park in St. Peters, Mo.
HOW MUCH: Free concert, tokens must be purchased for carnival rides and other activities.
WHAT: It’s a party, y’all! There will be live music, a carnival, entertainment, kids activities, fireworks and a variety of other activities.

Vegan Bake Sale for Immigrants/Refugees

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
WHERE: 3134 South Grand Boulevard, St. Louis
WHAT: A bake sale where 100% of the proceeds go to the Migrant and Immigrant Community Action Project (MICA). MICA provides legal services to immigrants and refugees in our community while also working to widen awareness about immigration.

Sauce Food Truck Friday

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 14 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
WHERE: Tower Grove Park
HOW MUCH: Buy what you eat.
WHAT: 20 food trucks will be lined up to serve some amazing food, along with some brews and some tunes.

Missouri Harvest Hayrides

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 15 and Sunday, Sept. 16
WHERE: St. Louis County Faust Park, 15185 Olive Street, Chesterfield, Mo.
HOW MUCH: 10$ per person
WHAT: A hayride through a beautiful and historic tree-lined park will really scratch that fall-themed itch you’ve had since December.

Half St. Patty’s Day Cardinals Game

WHEN: Thursday, Sept. 13 at 6:15 p.m.
WHERE: Busch Stadium
HOW MUCH: $21 – $187
WHAT: A baseball game against the LA Dodgers coinciding with Halfway to St. Patty’s Day! Buy a ticket and get a green Cardinals hoodie at the game!

Kirkwood Greentree Festival

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 14, Saturday, Sept. 15 and Sunday, Sept. 16
WHERE: Kirkwood Park, 111 S. Geyer Road, 63122
WHAT: A huge festival including everything from live music to flashlight orienteering. There’s a parade, bingo, a car show, face painting, a dog show and much, much more. Check it out!

South Grand Fall Festival

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
WHERE: Ritz Park 3147 S. Grand Blvd. St Louis, MO 63118
HOW MUCH: Free unless you buy from vendors
WHAT: Shopping, dining, games, and crafts will make this day great. I myself am a huge fan of giant Jenga.

Arnold Days

WHEN: Sunday, Sept. 16 from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.
WHERE: Arnold City Park, 2400 Bradley Beach Road, Arnold, Mo.
HOW MUCH: Free unless you buy from vendors.
WHAT: Another day of rides, food, crafts, music, entertainment, and to top it all off a parade!

Yoga and Bloody Marys in Lafayette

WHEN: Sunday, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
WHERE: Lafayette Square, St. Louis, Mo.
HOW MUCH: $15 (includes one bloody mary drink)
WHAT: Exactly what it sounds like. Bloody mary’s and yoga! They will card at the event.

Run for the Hills

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 15 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
WHERE: Francis Park, 5399 Donovan Avenue, St. Louis 63109
WHAT: Get a t-shirt and run a 5k! Proceeds go to Francis Park and the surrounding neighborhood.

Frozen Dessert Pop Up

WHEN: Saturday Sept.15 from12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
WHERE: Anew Rooftop + Test Kitchen, 519 N Grand Blvd, St. Louis, Mo.
WHAT: Three scoops of summer sorbet, ice cream, or frozen treats from a talented St. Louis chef. 

Chefs in a Garden

WHEN: Sunday, Sept. 16 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
WHERE: St. Louis Science Center’s Grow Exhibit
HOW MUCH: $150
WHAT: A cocktail attire event offering a tasting of local fresh foods meant to inspire the next generation of gardeners.

9th Annual Art from the Heart

WHEN: Thursday, Sept. 13 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Mungenast Lexus of St. Louis
WHAT: 60 pieces of art created by kids with cancer are being auctioned off and proceeds benefit the Friends of Kids with Cancer’s art therapy program.
