Carjacking incident reported on Pershing Avenue

Another carjacking incident was reported on the 6000 block of Pershing Avenue Thursday night.

Around 9:30 p.m., a graduate student was parking her car on Pershing Avenue near the intersection with Des Peres Avenue when she was approached by a subject as she exited her vehicle. He demanded her keys and cell phone, to which she complied. The subject then got in her car and drove away.

A Washington University security officer patrolling the area observed the vehicle head south on Des Peres Avenue and then turn to head east on Forest Park Parkway.

No weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported.

The subject was described as a black male in his early 20s and was about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a thin build and shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was wearing orange shorts and a green jacket.

The St. Louis Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
