Two student cyclists robbed at gunpoint
Two students on bicycles were robbed at gunpoint around the 6000 block of Pershing Avenue Wednesday night.
A suspect knocked one victim from his bike and stopped the second victim nearby. The suspect demanded both of their backpacks and displayed a handgun before fleeing the scene, according to the police report.
Neither victim required medical treatment.
The incident took place at around 11:30 p.m. on the 6000 block of Pershing.
Police are looking for a black male suspect in his early 20’s, about 6 feet tall and with shoulder length braided hair.
If the choice between keeping my backpack and being “politically correct” on my walk home wer’e to come up, I wouldn’t hesitate for one second. Say all you want about the media parade related to the Treyvon case but sometimes when it comes to stl assumptions take precedence.
He was just looking for a bottle of water since he couldn’t find any on campus.
