I’m baffled by this. What exactly did he do? Why are none of the so-called news stories telling the public what he is accused of doing, precisely?

Surely some 5 year old incident involving some fliers would not be enough to force him out of office. There must be something more.

David, Jeff Smith was not distributing lies about his opponent.The flier in question detailed Carnahan’s work record and his dismal voting record, all a matter of public record in Jefferson City

@Steve they closed a center for the study of ethics. It doesn’t take a whole lot of study to decide whether it’s ethical to distribute lies about your opponent during a campaign. The closure is completely irrelevant to the actions of Smith and it’s foolish to suggest otherwise.

Let me be the first to point out the irony of the University’s decision to shut down the Center for Ethics just as the allegations about Smith’s misconduct are emerging.
