First off I just want to say that all of the COMMENTS are very very right! This is an amazing album! Completly noteworthy and very unforgetable! Carrie delivers her most mature and most diverse album yet! After the first time I put this album in I was hooked! The most noteworthy songs on the album (in my opinion) are “Songs Like This”, “Someday When I Stop Loving You”, “Quitter” and, my favorite, “What Can I Say”! The whole album is a must purchase anyway though!

Before you review PLAY ON, make sure you have the right album because PLAY ON has 13 tracks not 12!

Get your facts right first and then say whatever you say.

If you found this album to be monotonous, either you haven’t heard the whole album, or you just don’t like country music. I found this album to be a smorgasbord of texture, diversity, and versatility — Carrie’s best and most heartfelt album to date! There are chunky, gritty, rock-ish crowd-pleasers (Cowboy Casanova, Undo It), subtle and sophisticated ballads (Temporary Home, Someday When I Stop Loving You), and bubbly mid-tempo anthems (This Time, Quitter). Tell me again that this album is “monotonous.” Carrie shows so much maturity and development on this album; it impresses me in so many ways.

By the way, the lyrics to Change are “Love is ALIVE” NOT “Love is a luck” so you should probably double check your interpretation of the lyrics before you bombast such an amazing song. When I first heard this song (I heard the demo first), I instantly knew what it was trying to say by the chorus — that small actions have the potential to do great things, so I don’t think your argument is very convincing at all. Also, Mama’s Song is SUPPOSED to be a love song (from the clever and unique perspective of a daughter talking to her mother), so your criticism falls short.

Never mind these negative and poorly thought-out reviews. Carrie, who stands up for her values and principles, knows exactly what the mainstream everyday people like and that’s the secret to her success. And that’s why she has as many fans as she does!
