The Stereotypes and The Pikers perform at the International Championship of A Cappella Midwestern Quarterfinals on Saturday. The Stereotypes beat out nine other groups from colleges and universities across the Midwest to win the quarterfinals and advance to the semifinal round, which will be held March 26 in Edison Theatre.

On Thursday, Aug. 26, a record number of new students joined the University community during a convocation ceremony in the Athletic Complex. The ceremony included speeches from Chancellor Mark Wrighton and senior Katie Kavinski, among others.

Students came to campus this year to find a new look on the South 40. New buildings include College Hall and a new Bear’s Den dining facility, as well as the completion of the South 40 House.

Bear’s Den employees wait along Shepley Drive after Bear’s Den and South Forty House was evacuated because of a fire alarm on Sunday evening. There was no fire. This was the third fire alarm in the building in the past week.
Junior setter Marilee Fisher sets the ball for sophomore Kaia Schwartz in a match against Christopher Newport University on Sept. 10.
