Republican challenger Ed Martin has refused to concede his loss in the 3rd Congressional District election to incumbent Democrat Russ Carnahan. The Martin campaign has pointed to a late-night influx of heavy Carnahan votes from seven city precincts as reason for investigation.

Miller to resign as VP administration
On Tuesday, junior Kirsten Miller announced plans to resign from her position as Student Union’s vice president of administration because she will be spending next semester abroad. Miller’s resignation will take effect Nov. 21 in order to allow a smooth transition for her successor.
Hotel cancels senior trip reservation
With five days to go before the senior class trip, the Senior Class Council was forced to change its plans for housing nearly half of the trip’s participants.
The Fairmont Millenium Hotel had agreed to house 128 of the trip’s 272 participants, but pulled out of the contract with the Senior Class Council on Wednesday after overbooking the hotel.
