I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Washington University. I received an exemplary education and met some students that have truly impressed me. But everyone writes about that kind of stuff at the end of the year, and I have some things I’d like to get off my chest – in sequential list form.

SU budget fails in Senate
The Student Union (SU) Senate voted against the proposed 2008-2009 General Budget on Wednesday evening after convening for more than four hours.
Members of the Senate were mainly concerned with reduced allocations for certain executive groups, such as Mr. Wash. U., and with other areas in the budget that were deemed excessive. Last Update: 9:53 a.m.
St. Louis continues to feel aftershocks from Friday’s quake
At 12:38 yesterday morning, St. Louis felt the trembles of 4.0-magnitude earthquake, one of at least five small aftershocks of Friday’s earthquake. According to the U.S Geological Survey National Earthquake Information Center, yesterday’s earthquake occurred near Mount Carmel, Illinois, 131 miles from St. Louis.
Op-ed: SU’s KWUR budget cuts harmul to students
Over the weekend, Student Union Vice President of Finance Yewande Alimi informed KWUR that SU’s preliminary budget for KWUR for the 2008-2009 school year would be $20,577. This is a drop-off from the $30,000 KWUR received in last year’s cuts, and a far cry from the $50,000 from two years ago.
Review: Thrice – “The Alchemy Index Vol. III & IV”
Philip Glass was a minimalist; Thrice just never does anything with “The Alchemy Index Vol. III & IV.” All 12 tracks are very different, spanning new age to spirituals, but that only lends to the feeling that the album is an exercise in mediocrity.
Next year’s SU budget to be announced at tonight’s Treasury meeting
At tonight’s Treasury meeting, Student Union will formally present next year’s proposed budget. Students are welcome to attend to see the SU budget for the 08-09 school year and to voice any concerns. The meeting will take place in Simon 110 and starts at 9:15pm.
