Students of all faiths are invited to gather tonight at St. Louis Hillel to take part in an interfaith dialogue centered on services for Jewish Shabbat (the Hebrew word for ‘Sabbath’).
The event, co-sponsored and funded by an array of campus religious groups, is the first of its kind to stimulate interfaith conversation by inviting a diverse body of students to Jewish services.
Several students, including a student at the Washington University School of Medicine, recently attended a summit in Washington, D.C. discussing the impact of HIV and AIDS in Africa. Shijing Jia, a student at the School of Medicine and a member of the Physicians for Human Rights Student Chapter, attended the summit, which was held on Feb. 5 and Feb. 18.
Riding the tide of one the most diverse primary ballots in history, the University College Master of Liberal Arts program began its Saturday lecture series this weekend on the topic of elections and politics.
The title of the lecture on Tuesday night was ‘What is Wrong (and Right) with Feminism.’ The Brian Cave Courtroom of the Anheuser-Busch Law School buzzed as students waited for the speaker to begin. Christina Hoff Sommers of the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research and author of ‘Who Stole Feminism?’ was about to take the floor.
