You’re out at a restaurant with a friend and a couple is seated at the table right next to you.
You’ve been single for what feels like a decade. Finally, that cute guy in your discussion section that you’ve been flirting with all semester asks you if you want to grab some dinner, just you two, sometime.
He is everything you’ve been looking for. Funny, a good listener, smart, opens the door for you, brings you food when you’re spending the night in the library, makes sure your friends get home safe from the party.
It seems like a typical Sunday morning. You go into the bathroom, splash some water on your face and then start packing your backpack to head off to the library for the rest of the day.
Rejection sucks. We’ve all experienced that sensation of feeling like someone just punched you in the gut after you were turned away from your dream college or you watched your best friend get chosen over you for a job.
There will be lots of preparations for this weekend.
Don’t beat yourself up if the following situation happens to you.
You’re taking a break from studying and decide to stroll around the library to wake up a little.
It’s a phenomenon seen in “Friends,” Archie comics, “When Harry Met Sally” and so many chick flicks that listing them would take up all the space for this article.
We are constantly making comparisons in the college world.
