As the last few weeks of class approach and the stress builds up, it’s important to take time to relax and enjoy a good meal, especially if your parents decide to drop by for a visit. Jimmy’s on the Park is a trendy, upscale restaurant located in Clayton near Kaldi’s Coffee.

Roxane is a hip, stylish European-inspired restaurant located in Clayton. Roxane’s restaurateur is also the owner of Mira, BARcelona and Cyrano’s. The food at Roxane was phenomenal-cooked to perfection with flavors that skillfully complemented each other. I could imagine the chef in the kitchen crafting the dishes as if he were competing on Top Chef.
I walk into Brown 100. The room is already packed with students. A TA hands me a stack of papers covered with text, diagrams and graphs. I’m thinking: the test is today?! It’s an essay test?! People glare at me as I bump into them looking for a seat. They’re all writing calmly and diligently.
The Blue Elephant is not your typical Thai restaurant. Each dish is a work of art; the chefs here demonstrate their culinary expertise through exquisite presentation. Their work has been recognized by publications across the country, including Chef Magazine, Food and Wine and the Chicago Tribune.
Blackberry Cafe is a small restaurant not far from campus. The café is known for its Mediterranean-infused fare as well as its free wireless internet.
When we arrived, the owner greeted my friends and me and took our orders.
Over my winter break, I spent some time in New York City on one of Washington University’s Road Shows coordinated by the Career Center. The Career Center offers Road Shows each winter break for sophomores, juniors and seniors to various locations across the country.
Looking for some good pizza near campus? Check out Dewey’s Pizza for a fun, casual dining experience. The pizza is delicious and the joint is a great place to go with a group of friends.
Clean, classy and casual, Dewey’s has a very appealing decor. Some walls are painted a deep maroon color while others are a cream colored brick.
As good as the omelets and waffles taste, are you getting a bit tired of Center Court on the weekends? Are you looking for someplace special to go for breakfast when people come to visit or do you just need a little pick-me-up after a long week of studying (or partying)?
Well, City Coffee House and Crˆperie may be the solution to your problems.
Liluma is a classy bistro, serving French and Italian-influenced fare. In general, I found the food to be both delicious and inventive. Each item was presented beautifully. However, I was unimpressed by the service, which was certainly not on par with the food’s quality.
