Troy Ruths
Men’s basketball

The senior ended with a game high of 24 points in the Bears’ 74-66 loss to Chicago in the UAA title game. Ruths connected with 12-of-15 free throws. On Sunday, Ruths was named 2008 ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-America of the Year, which is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Ruths has a 4.0 GPA and is majoring in computer science. He averaged 18.7 points and 6.8 rebounds this season. This is his second straight year winning this distinction.

Zo‰ Unruh
Women’s basketball

The sophomore scored 14 points including two threes in the Lady Bear’s 76-53 loss to the University of Chicago in the UAA title game.

Dave Working
Baseball

The senior was three-for-seven over two games and knocked in the tying run in the second game with a suicide squeeze bunt against Coe College.

Jaclyn Bild
Women’s tennis

The freshman won both of her singles matches and together with classmate Karina Kocemba won her doubles match at Carthage. The women’s team brought home two wins against Carthage College and 18th-ranked Wheaton College.

Charlie Cutler
Men’s tennis

The junior won both single matches and the double match that he played in this weekend’s sweep of Luther College and the University of Chicago.
