Hoffmann’s critique of Budget committee unfair

Re: Saving Our Beautiful Souls by Steven Hoffman, Forum 1/30/08
Mr. Hoffmann alleges that “The Budget committee gets to practice petty favoritism, fully funding their friends’ groups,” yet he fails to substantiate this claim with any concrete example. While the committee
has admittedly made occasional mistakes in the past, I find this allegation of favoritism to be egregiously unfounded in fact. Applications for the Budget Committee have been available on the Student
Union website since January 15th, and to my knowledge, Mr. Hoffmann has not submitted an application.
