Weird Wild Movie Stuff

I’m a very intense movie geek: the homepage on my computer is set to imdb.com, I check batman-on-film.com everyday (a great site for picking up any and all minutiae concerning Christopher Nolan’s “Batman Begins” sequel “The Dark Knight”) and my relationship with Quint from Aint-it-cool-news.com is one of hateful jealousy.

Despite my geeky predilections, I rarely share any of the production stills, rumors or on-set diaries I find everyday with the StudLife-reading public. I hold back mostly for fear of rejection by a much cooler-than-I audience but also out of greedy selfishness. But when Cadenza staff writer Kaity Li shared these concept-pictures from the soon to be filmed “Splice” I had to share them with all of you.

The film stars Adrian Brody and Sarah Polley and is to be directed by Vincenzo Natali, the guy who made “Cube.” These pictures show what appear to be some kind of genetic experiments to be featured in the film (they look halfway between humans and dinosaurs) and should continue to feed your nightmares until the movie actually comes out in 2009.

They are also fairly reminiscent of one of the better “Batman Beyond” episodes. What they will look like in the movie or how Adrian and Sarah will go about creating these beasts is still a mystery.

And while I’m on the subject of concept art for movies that won’t come out for a while, here is some info and art from ‘The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus” a movie about to be directed by Terry Gilliam (“Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” “Brazil,” “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”). Weird wild stuff.
