Creation of Social Programming Board

Amendment to Statutes as replacement of 3(E):

3(E). Social Programming Board (SPB)

There shall be a Social Programming Board whose purpose shall be to provide and enhance ongoing programming for the entire university community. The creation of the SPB shall serve to foster collaboration and maximize the programming productivity between student groups whose sole purpose are to provide entertainment and social events for the university population at large. The Social Programming Board shall be comprised of:

1. Campus Programming Council
2. Filmboard
3. Gargoyle Committee
4. Team31 Productions

Each group shall maintain creative control over its programming and control over its internal operating procedures. The position of chairpersons of each group shall be elected at that group’s discretion with the advice of the SU President.

The chairs of the constituent groups of the SPB shall serve on the SPB Steering Committee to meet no less than once per month. The groups’ advisor(s) as well as the Student Union Vice President shall also serve as members of this committee. Each group and the SU Vice President shall be afforded one vote for decision-making purposes The groups’ advisor(s) shall serve in an ex-officio capacity. All the general members of the groups of the SPB shall meet outside of the board no less than once per semester.

Constituent groups of the SPB shall apply for funding individually, on a yearly basis to be approved by the Senate. Up to an additional 10% of the sum of the total yearly allocation received by all of the groups of the SPG shall be allocated as a standing fund. This fund shall be used for new programming and collaborative projects only and may not be used by any groups without a simple majority approval voting from the SPB Steering Committee.

The SPB shall have a governing charter that further outlines its structure and operating procedures. Each constituent group shall maintain a constitution in accordance with the policies of Student Union and the SPB charter. The SPB Charter and the constituent group constitutions shall be subject to yearly review.
