Saturday night’s KWUR Week finale, the hip hop show, was a showcase for rap talent from all over North America. Hundreds came to see Chicago’s Hi-Fidel, Indianapolis’ Mudkids and Vancouver’s Moka Only, but St. Louis’ very own Bits ’n’ Pieces stole the show.
Sharif Abdelhamid, hip hop director at KWUR, said “Bits ’n’ Pieces were the biggest draw…They captured the local crowd, and in hindsight, should have been the headliners.”
Kat and Jai of Bits ’n’ Pieces put on an energetic show, displaying their efforts over the last few months leading up to the recent release of their first full-length CD, titled “Hip Hop.”
Following Moka Only’s set, complete with freestyles and songs from his latest album, the Mudkids drew crowd participation in the final set of the night.
